The Church of God student volunteer group, ASEZ STAR, hosted an event on Sunday with Mother’s Love. On May 5, 2024 where members and their guests gathered to assemble heartfelt gift bags. The gift bags were prepared to present to their moms for Mother’s Day as well as their teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. This event was held in participation of the Filial Piety and Gratitude campaign, which is one of the activities of ASEZ STAR’s Good Student campaign.

Introduction to ASEZ STAR

Through a presentation prepared by the students, guests were introduced to ASEZ STAR, the student volunteer group of the Church of God, and were able to learn of the various campaigns that the organization conducts, such as Good Student and Green Earth. Additionally, attendees were able to see the various awards and certificates that have been presented to ASEZ STAR for their diligent efforts to help their communities locally and globally.

ASEZ STAR is raising young people everywhere to make a positive change in the lives of those around them as well as helping local communities. Recently, a group of students in the City of Hayward participated in the “Adopt-A-Block Program“. Through their efforts, students have committed to the community to carry out this continuing project. As a result, youth are being recognized worldwide for taking action.

Afterwards, the topic, “Heavenly Family and Earthly Family,” was presented to the attendees to reveal the existence of the heavenly family through the creation of the earthly family. Through God creating the earthly family with fathers and mothers giving life to their children as the shadow, the heavenly family consists of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother giving life to Their heavenly children as the reality. By this, the ASEZ STAR students were also able to share with their friends, classmates and acquaintances the way to become a part of the heavenly family, the Passover of the New Covenant.

Gifts for mothers and teachers

After the presentations, members and their guests were guided to the gift-making area, where they could enjoy delicious snacks and beverages, while preparing their sincere gifts for their moms and teachers. As both mothers and teachers live busy and hectic lives for their children and students, respectively, the attendees prepared tea bags with personalized messages on the tags and miniature honey pots for their loved one to enjoy as a way to unwind and relax on their special day. Guests were also given the opportunity to write messages of love, gratitude and respect to their mothers and teachers through heartfelt letters and postcards. Everyone in attendance was able to take the time and sincerely consider their mothers’ love and selflessness and their teachers’ patience and guidance that have helped shape them into the people they are today.

First Event held by 3rd San Diego Zion

As this was the first event held in the newly  established 3rd San Diego Zion, the members earnestly displayed the glory of God and shared the love of Mother to the many newcomers. By the end of the event, the guests were eager to present their gifts to their moms and teachers and were filled with joy, being moved by the love of Mother displayed through the members. The Church of God members in San Diego will continue to express filial piety and gratitude, not only to their physical mothers and teachers, but especially to Heavenly Mother, most of all, who is the greatest teacher, guiding Her children to salvation with love and care.
