On April 26, 2026, the World Mission Society Church of God in Fresno partnered with Central California Blood Center and unitedly hosted the 1887th Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover. This was a united effort between Church of God located in San Francisco, Sacramento, Bakersfield, Visalia and local Central Valley. The unity among these churches is the reason for the success of the event. Through this event, 250 people attended, 151 donors registered, and collected 128 units of blood, potentially saving 384 lives.

The World Mission Society Church of God regularly partners with the Central California Blood Center at least twice a year to host a mega blood drive. Donors from all over California, as far as San Francisco, Sacramento, Bakersfield, Visalia and local Central Valley cities, traveled in a united effort to participate in this great cause.

Not only do people have the opportunity to save physical lives through donating their blood, but also everyone’s souls are able to be moved by the love of God shared throughout this event.

Performances to grace the occasion

During this particular blood drive, there were touching, heartfelt performances and delicious food shared amongst each other. Performances even led some to tears as the children from the Church of God shared a dance performance about Mother’s heart and love. Elementary students put together a recorder piece and shared beautiful harmonies with the Church of God orchestra.

In addition, there were choir performances, a dance featuring different segments from around the world, as well as a female quartet and male choir to help share the love of our Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother.

Saving Lives Through the Blood Drive

Through the blood drive, the World Mission Society Church of God volunteers wanted to save physical lives while also emphasizing the need to save lives spiritually, as stated by donor Nastassja Pizanis.

“Our mission is to share God’s love with all people throughout the world. That’s why we don’t only study the Bible, but we also put God’s teaching into practice by hosting volunteer services,” Pizanis said. “This blood drive is a shadow of our mission. Through the blood drive, we are saving lives by donating blood, and we also want to save spiritual lives by sharing the New Covenant Passover with everyone.”

Terry, a representative for the Central California Blood Center, acknowledged that despite the growing population in the Central Valley (2 million), “only 1.4% actually donate.” Through this, everyone can realize how important even one donor is. The Church of God hopes to share love with all people around the world and even make a bigger impact in the local community.

The Church of God encourages all of the Central Valley to donate blood and participate in the next mega blood drive that will be held in the winter.
