June 2, 2024 – With the mind of sharing Heavenly Father and Mother’s love , the World Mission Society Church of God in San Francisco organized a clean-up of Orange Memorial Park. The 28 acre park, located in the center of the South San Francisco neighborhood, is a favorite amongst locals. Consisting of a children’s play area, community building, group picnic areas, athletic courts and fields, walking trail and more, there was plenty of ground to cover.
From early in the morning, approximately 70 volunteers set out with cleaning supplies in tow, ready to beautify the park. Over the course of just a few short hours, the eager volunteers collected dozens of trash bags filled with various items that had been discarded throughout the area.
With bright smiles on their faces, the Church of God volunteers joyfully cleaned the park, thinking of local residents who would be able to enjoy it afterwards. One volunteer exclaimed, “I’m so happy to be here with my brothers and sisters… so we can spread Father and Mother’s love.”
In a show of gratitude, South San Francisco, Council member Buenaflor Nicolas presented the Church of God with a Certificate of Appreciation. The volunteers graciously accepted the award by offering a chant of “We love you” to the council member, who was overjoyed with the reception.
The Orange Memorial Park Clean Up is just one of many volunteer efforts that the Church of God routinely carries out. As sharing love with our neighbors is a teaching of the Bible, the church members always try to put it into action displaying God’s love and glory.
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
