CAMP CEDAR CREST, CA – The Southwest Region of The World Mission Society Church of God held the annual summer camp from August 18 until August 21 at Camp Cedar Crest in Los Angeles County. In this age, Christ Ahnsahnghong set the example of holding a summer camp full of education and realization to motivate the members and build up their faith. Through that, many Church of God members have been following in the same path to unite through annual summer camps.

The church also holds summer camps for students, but this one was catered more for young adults and adult members in the Church of God.

Within the San Bernardino Mountains, the camp location allowed members from California, Arizona, Nevada, Alaska, and Hawaii to flee to and unite together through the words of God with a desire to reignite the hope to enter heaven.

The theme of the 2025 Summer Camp was “This Is Heaven”. The 4-day camp focused on heaven and helping members realize that the kingdom of heaven is not far away and will be full of joy and happiness forever and ever (Revelation 21:1-4).

Members were motivated through the education and being able to spend time with those they don’t normally see. The camp also provided meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the site was very suitable for the privacy and comfort of the members.

Through this, the members could have a small glimpse of what heaven might be like: Laughing, having fun with each other, and eating food together, all while smiling and being thankful for the opportunity God gave them.

This is Heaven

The first day commenced with excitement during the opening ceremony. The members were filled with zeal to learn more about heaven and participated in gracious education and orientation. The education ranged from “Life and Activities in the Angelic World” as well as “Having a Dream” and “How to Overcome Temptation” with a focus on having their minds thinking about heaven.

The second day of camp was again filled with God’s words and teachings to better the faith and strengthen the gospel workers. Topics throughout the second day included “History of the Destruction of Babylon” as well as Finding the Youngest” and “Pushing Toward the Dream.”

In the evening, the members all gathered for the Holy Third Day worship and learned the answer to the following question: Why should we enter heaven?

Fun Under the Sun (and Stars)

The third day was full of unity games, sports, and jeopardy. The day filled the members with laughter, joy, and unity. The brothers and sisters split into teams and played sports as well as unity games to share fun times. The sports included kickball, soccer, football, basketball and even human foosball, while the indoor games included a musical chairs game and Bible-based jeopardy.

In the evening, all members came together for a bonfire under the night sky and enjoyed tasty s’mores while also performing skits, ranging from Bible themes and even including a quartet.

The fourth and final day included education and some parting words, all of which were aimed at focusing the minds towards the kingdom of heaven. While life is full of struggles and trials, the end result of the kingdom of heaven is the driving force, just like the situation of Apostle Paul 2,000 years ago.

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:14

With this hope, the members are working hard and are motivated to spread the good news to the whole world and continue the push towards the glorious kingdom of heaven.
