In a touching display of appreciation, members of ASEZ WAO, in collaboration with MountainView Hospital, organized a Snack Gift Initiative on December 13, 2023. The event, held at MountainView Hospital from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM, aimed to recognize and express gratitude to the often-overlooked heroes in the healthcare field.

Two churches, Las Vegas Zion and Henderson Zion, teamed up with a total of 40 members to carry out this meaningful initiative. The purpose of the event was to shine a light on the tireless efforts of healthcare workers, who, despite working long shifts, often go unrecognized for their invaluable contributions to society.

Members of ASEZ WAO hand-delivered snack gifts of love to all hospital staff

Throughout the day, members of ASEZ WAO hand-delivered snack gifts of love to all hospital staff, both morning and night shift workers were able to receive the love of Mother. The gifts contained various snacks to enjoy during their demanding shifts, along with small gifts and handwritten letters expressing appreciation and support. The event, benefiting hundreds of healthcare workers facing daily challenges, profoundly impacted the hospital and the community.

Special guests in attendance included Hiral Patel, CEO of MountainView Hospital; Jennifer McDonnell, Director of Public Relations; and Ana Vides, Director of Volunteer Services. The event marked a significant partnership with MountainView Hospital, established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlined the shared mission of creating a greener workplace and showing appreciation to all hospital workers.

Volunteers and attendees expressed the profound impact of the initiative. Corine, a Physical Therapist, stated, “I am so joyful! We don’t get this all the time, for you all to come and give these gifts to us feels so good because we never receive love of any kind.”

The event garnered attention and appreciation from the hospital staff. An RN at MountainView Hospital remarked, “Many times people are always focused on the negative things, like what we don’t do as healthcare workers. So the fact that you all are taking the time to recognize the good that we do is huge; I really appreciate this.”

Melissa Jasinto, an ASEZ WAO member and Pediatric Heart Doctor, shared her happiness, saying, “I am so happy that we got an opportunity to carry this out. The nurses work so hard, and this can be a very thankless job. I am happy we got a chance to give them a bit of joy that can pick them up during their shifts!”

The impact on the healthcare workers and the community stands as a testament to the power of collective gratitude and support. The signed MOU between ASEZ WAO and MountainView Hospital further solidifies the commitment to creating a positive and appreciative environment for healthcare professionals.
