On Sunday, January 19, 2025, a remarkable act of service took place as members of the World Mission Society Church of God came together to support families impacted by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. With hearts inspired by the love of Heavenly Mother, approximately 150 dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to provide relief for those who have lost so much. From 11 am, volunteers began setting up the staging area where cars would pass through to drop off their donations.

Gathering at a designated collection point, volunteers sorted and packaged a vast array of donated goods sent from generous members throughout California. For nearly an hour and a half, cars streamed steadily through the site, dropping off essential items such as soap, razors, toothbrushes, and toilet paper. The outpouring of love and generosity resulted in nearly 1,000 boxes filled with necessities, bringing hope and comfort to countless families facing the unimaginable challenge of rebuilding their lives.

Working in Harmony

The volunteers, driven by their faith and devotion to Heavenly Father and Mother, came together from across the state, embodying a spirit of service and love. Their collective efforts not only addressed immediate needs but also sent a powerful message of solidarity to those affected by the wildfires.

“It’s truly heartwarming to see so many people united in the mission of helping others,” said one volunteer. “Through Heavenly Mother’s love, we’re reminded of the importance of caring for one another, especially in times of hardship.”

This extraordinary act of kindness reflects the core values of the World Mission Society Church of God, which spreads hope and happiness all over the world. The church’s commitment to serving communities is ongoing with California’s wildfire support. The Church of God is no stranger to emergency relief, helping those facing disasters all over the world recover.

A Helping Hand in Time of Need

The wildfire victims who will receive these carefully packaged items can find solace in knowing they are not alone. Behind every box is a story of love, compassion, and unwavering support—all rooted in the guiding light of Heavenly Mother.

As the community continues to recover, the efforts of these volunteers serve as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the strength that comes from harmony and love. Through their dedication and faith, they have brought light to a time of darkness, embodying the true spirit of service.

Distributions To Pasadena and Santa Monica

As the donations were collected and the boxes were prepared, the Church of God members in Pasadena also helped out with these efforts in their local community. On Sunday, January 27, over 70 members gathered at the Flintridge Center to distribute supplies and boxes in partnership with Neighborhood Survants.

The members ranged from churches in Los Angeles, San Diego, Escondido, Oceanside, Sunland, Torrance, Cerritos, Santa Clarita, Riverside, Orange County and Temecula.

Susana Porras, the city coordinator for the Pasadena Police Department, had nothing but kind words to say about the efforts and donations from the church: “I want you to understand how important this is for us because this big tragedy happened and it’s not something that’s going to go away. It’s going to take years to recover from this and we are very happy just because the support is still coming in. So thank you to everybody and we appreciate your support, your love, and your prayers. Thank you so much.”

The members gathered at 10:30 and stayed until noon to support those families in need who suffered due to the fires.

After the Pasadena distribution, members went to Santa Monica. The members distributed boxes and supplies at the Capital One Cafe in partnership with the Open Hearts Foundation.

The church remains committed to uplifting and reminding the community that they are not alone during this time of need.
