The World Mission Society Church of God in San Diego held the 1,052nd Worldwide Blood Drive to give life through the love of the Passover on May 8, 2022. Many members brightly attended the blood drive to participate in saving lives by donating blood. All who attended realized the importance of saving lives, with the ultimate goal to deliver the truth of the Passover.
Working together with the LifeStream staff to put forth the event, the goal was to collect 100 pints of blood. For every one pint of blood, three lives can be saved. Thus, by collecting 100 pints of blood the donors would be able to save 300 lives.
With the mind to shine the light of God Elohim, many members and guests appeared at the event. From the early morning, the members arrived with positive attitudes, remembering that the blood drive was our precious opportunity to share how important it is to keep the Passover, in which we receive the blood of Christ for our salvation.
The guests who attended spoke only positive remarks about the event saying everyone was energetic, hospitable, welcoming and joyful. One of the staff members that we spoke with said that it was her fourth time coming to one of our blood drives and every time she looked forward to it. She even concluded by thanking Heavenly Mother for the event. Another guest mentioned that he was invited through one member who said to him, “Jesus gave His blood for the world, would you be willing to donate blood to save one person’s life?” By realizing the great sacrifice of Jesus, shedding His blood to save mankind, he was willing to come to donate blood with the hope to save a life.
Many guests and staff shared how amazing and grateful they were for having held this blood drive. While the staff were working hard to collect the blood, various teams from decorations, cheering and refreshments filled the atmosphere with joy and love. Although donating blood may have seemed intimidating and scary for some, participating in the event was an altruistic act of love hoping for the salvation of others. In particular, one of the LifeStream staff members was touched by how some donors overcame their fear of needles to save three lives by donating blood. The volunteers were able to realize how it truly is a great service and sacrifice to donate blood.
Also, another member of the LifeStream staff gave thanks to Heavenly Mother for allowing the blood drive to take place and mentioned that in the past, other blood drives were held but it was always uncertain of what the turn out would be. She said if it was 40 or 50 people planned, then only less than half would show up. At the Church of God blood drive that day we expected to raise 100 pints, which meant we needed 100 people to come and donate blood. By the end of the blood drive it was announced that 127 pints of blood were collected and our goal was surpassed! The blood donations collected on that day could save up to 381 lives.
Church volunteers were very thankful to God the Father and God the Mother for allowing them this amazing accomplishment. This event was also shared with our local community through the KUSI News afternoon report. As some photos of the event were shared, the Church of God was praised for carrying out this event to help others.
