On February 1, 2024, members from the World Mission Society Church of God in Escondido donated 200 coats to Conway Elementary School students. Escondido Zion took time from December 2023 until February to collect donations and purchase coats. The reaction from the school was excitement and thankfulness. The school did not anticipate such a generous donation. In addition to the coats, school supplies were also donated including pencils, crayons and markers.

Donation to Conway Elementary School

Conway Elementary school’s site manager, as well as the volunteer coordinator of the school, were on site to receive the donation and expressed shock at the number of coats received. Since more than 50 members from the Church of God in Escondido contributed to this heartwarming event the goal of 100 coat donations was doubled.

San Pasqual Native American tribe also partnered with the Church of God in Escondido and donated generously to purchase more jackets for Conway Elementary students. Their willingness to partner with the Church of God displays a true expression that unity can be accomplished with a Mother’s love.

You are not alone. Cheer up!

Sharing love with neighbors is a campaign being carried out on a global scale by the Church of God. Children all over benefit from the generosity and love shown by members of the Church of God. Battle Grove Elementary in Baltimore Maryland is the site of a similar event showcasing the genuine love shared with neighbors.

Brittany, a member of the Church of God in Escondido, said, “Thanks to our Heavenly Father and Mother for all of Escondido Zion’s united efforts with this winter coat drive. For the glory of Heavenly Father and Mother, we surpassed our goal and reached 200 coats. On our own, we can never accomplish anything, but with the help of God, the way was opened. As the theme of this year 2024 is “New Hope, New Opportunities”, I pray many more doors of opportunity for the gospel are opened for Escondido Zion to shine the light. Animo!”

On this day, the volunteer coordinator at Conway Elementary discussed further plans with the Church of God in Escondido to continue a partnership. The Church of God hopes that we can continue to share love with all our neighbors, not only in Escondido, but throughout the world.
