TORRANCE, CA — With the promising Passover approaching, members of the Church of God in Torrance presented a heartfelt play for beloved guests to realize its importance. “Passover, A Timeless Invitation” was a multimedia production that included live acts, pre-recorded shorts, and a dynamic choir performance.

More than mere entertainment, the play was a sincere attempt to reconnect people with God through an ancient biblical truth, a sacred observance that has not been kept in its true form for centuries. The spiritual significance of the Passover, instituted by Jesus Christ Himself, was on full display.

Action on Stage

As guests arrived, they walked first into a welcoming area bursting with loving smiles and quintessential theatre treats. Audience members took their popcorn, candy, nachos, and beverages and settled into their seats.

The hearts of the cast and crew was immediately felt within the sanctuary. Their longing for the salvation of all people reached maximum capacity due to the numerous guests and contacts who attended.

From its first to its final act, the play’s storyline traversed over 3,500 years of Passover history. It served as a live synopsis of the Passover, including its origin in B.C. 1498 to the New Covenant Jesus Christ kept with His disciples, to its abolishment in A.D. 325, and finally, to its crucial restoration by the second coming Christ Ahnsahnghong in our time.

Timeless Love Through the Passover

Karla Ibarra, the play’s director, continuously gave glory to God for its success. She compared the work of putting together a production to the work that God does for us without rest. Then she expressed, “Father and Mother are always at Their work. They’re always trying to prepare for us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and to prepare things for the gospel.

Jacob Martinez, who portrayed Jesus Christ as He spoke to His disciples on the Passover night, shared, “On the Passover, Christ knew what was going to happen to Him before the crucifixion but beyond that, He was even thinking of His children in the last days.

As Christ promised to send the Advocate, who would teach us all things and remind us of everything He had taught, so He guaranteed that the forgotten Passover would be restored in His second coming (John 14:26). Indeed, He has made his appearance in fulfillment of His promise and grants eternal life and protection from the last plagues through this feast.

He knew what would happen to His truth and promised not to leave us as orphans,” Martinez continued.

Curtain Call

As the play came to a close, the audience was left with a profound sense of reverence and reflection. It served as a powerful reminder that the Passover, the gospel itself, is a gift meant to be embraced by all generations. The Lord of the Passover, who extended its invitation 3,500 years ago, continues to do so to this very day.
