On Thursday, August 28, 2025, ASEZ WAO of the World Mission Society Church of God hosted the Leaders for a Better Tomorrow 2025 Leadership Forum at the Church of God in Las Vegas, Nevada. Beginning at 5:00 p.m., the forum brought together members from two local churches—Las Vegas and Henderson—for an inspiring evening focused on leadership, service, and collaboration. A total of 45 members, 6 guests, and 5 VIP speakers participated in the event, which aimed to build partnerships, strengthen community relations, and raise awareness of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Benefit Volunteer Initiatives

The forum benefited ASEZ WAO, ASEZ STAR, and ASEZ members who are actively serving the community through volunteer initiatives. It also helped the greater Las Vegas community take meaningful steps toward connection and cooperation within the world of volunteerism. Through presentations, shared experiences, and open dialogue, both students and adults gained valuable insight into leadership rooted in service, faith, and responsibility toward society.

God has love for each and every one

Distinguished community leaders attended as special guests and speakers, each offering unique perspectives from their respective fields. Attorney Karen H. Ross, who spoke on youth and legal literacy, reflected on the values that have guided her more than 21 years of service, stating, “I believe that God has love for each and every one of us, and through the church’s work in volunteering throughout the community, this church is showing direct signs of love, kindness, and support.” She also shared, “All throughout life I carried my mother’s love in my heart and God. I live my life being a good human being and with love, which is the greatest gift. ‘Just do it.’”

Joseph Matvay, Retired LVMPD Independent Forensic Consultant, spoke on law enforcement and leadership, drawing from 35 years of experience. He shared, “Every day I saw what man can do to humanity, and it was draining—but my faith in God helped me through the years. A great leader helps others. Always follow religious law and secular law, and do the right thing.” He also expressed appreciation for the Church of God and ASEZ WAO, noting how impressed he was by their commitment to serving others in the community.

Global impact of Leadership

The forum also featured Dr. Michelle Paul, Executive Director of UNLV Practice, who addressed the importance of mental health awareness. Jennifer Page, President of Champions for CASA, expressed her admiration for the global impact of ASEZ WAO volunteers, saying she was inspired by the young people who give back through hunger relief, disaster response, and outreach to those in need. Tami Hance-Lehr, CEO and State Director of Communities in Schools, emphasized leadership, advocacy, and environmental responsibility, sharing that the message of caring for the Earth “from A to Z” deeply resonated with her and reinforced the importance of leaving a positive legacy for future generations.

A meaningful highlight of the evening came as all five VIP speakers signed supporting signatures pledging their commitment to future collaboration with ASEZ WAO. This moment symbolized a shared desire to continue building strong partnerships and working together on impactful volunteer initiatives that will benefit the Las Vegas community.

Leadership: Service, Unity, and Love

The Leaders for a Better Tomorrow 2025 Leadership Forum concluded as a powerful reminder that true leadership is grounded in service, unity, and love. Through the guidance and love of God the Father and God the Mother, the event gave glory to God and laid the foundation for lasting relationships that will continue to shine a light of hope, compassion, and positive change throughout the community for years to come.
