On August 25th, 2024, the World Mission Society Church of God in Sunland, California proudly hosted a vibrant multicultural event. Through the event, they welcomed almost 200 attendees from the local community to share God’s love.
It included a number of amenities, which featured a rich array of international cuisines and engaging games, celebrating the diverse cultures that make up the community. Members of the Church of God took this opportunity to invite their loving family members, friends, and neighbors from different backgrounds to learn about and understand each others’ cultures and differences.
Multicultural Church
In general, the World Mission Society Church of God is a church that was established in over 175 countries, containing members of all different types of backgrounds and cultures. Many have even questioned how a church with so many different personalities, cultures, languages, and backgrounds all come together in harmony and be so joyful together.
Heavenly Mother has taught us to treat everyone kindly, unite, and preach to the world. Following Mother’s word, members of the Church of God wanted to share Mother’s love through this event by displaying how to understand each other, despite our many differences.
Delicious Multicultural Experience
Attendees enjoyed a variety of delicious foods ranging from Korean, Mexican, American, Filipino, and so much more! In addition, everyone participated in numerous activities designed to foster community spirit and inclusivity, such as learning how to write characters in different languages. The Church of God extended invitations to their neighbors, creating a festive atmosphere where people from different backgrounds came together to share in the joy and unity of the occasion.
Commitment to spread Mother’s love
“This event reflects our commitment to serving and connecting with our community in meaningful ways,” said Lucio Salinas, Deacon of the World Mission Society Church of God. “We are dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and support for everyone in our area and look forward to continuing our service and outreach efforts in the future.”
Following the mission to spread Mother’s love to the whole world, many guests expressed how impactful the event was and even wanted to become members of the Church of God. Through Heavenly Father and Mother’s grace, five people were baptized through this event. The World Mission Society Church of God remains steadfast in its mission to support and engage with the local community through various initiatives and events. Their ongoing efforts aim to build stronger relationships and promote a culture of kindness and togetherness.
