October 22, 2023 – Autumn, the time when gathering in the name of various holidays begins, the Church of God in Torrance gathered with a very different purpose. That purpose was to host the seminar entitled “The Church Established by God.” Around 100 guests and members attended, warmly greeted by smiles and soothing instrumental music. Afterward, an introduction video showing the sincere volunteer service activities of the Torrance Church of God members was shown.
The Truth Given by Jesus Christ
Beginning with a PowerPoint presentation of the same title, the first presenter, Ivonne Munoz, explained some of the identifying characteristics of the original church Jesus Christ established. “Nowadays, there are many churches and denominations, but 2000 years ago, how many churches did Jesus Himself establish?,” she asked. Through the name “Church of God”; the day of worship, Saturday; and the keeping of the Passover of the New Covenant, the biblical proofs abounded. (Act 20:28, Ex 20:8-9, Jn 6:53-54, Lk 22:7-8, 19-20)
The Truth Given in the Last Days
In the second half of the presentation, the speaker, Edgard Suce, explored the simple fact that the true church would not accept false teachings. In the final portion of the presentation, entitled “The Future Church of God Seen by the Apostles”, the existence of the eternal life-givers in our time was revealed, that is, the Spirit and the Bride (Rev 22:17).
Afterward, the kitchen team treated guests to refreshments and drinks prepared wholeheartedly. A creative, challenging Escape Room and a heavenly-themed photo booth were also enjoyed. Guests expressed the sentiment that what stood out to them were the simple truths, easily grasped. They also expressed appreciation for the hospitality of the church members. According to one guest, Patricia, what was most notable after receiving the education was “the feeling that you are walking into something that you have been missing.”
The Church of God earnestly misses heavenly family members and invites all people to worship in spirit and truth together.
