ASEZ WAO Gives Messages of Thanks to COVID-19 Response Facilities in 13 Countries Through the Heart-to-Heart Campaign

The Battle Begins with COVID-19

The year 2020 was a year of drastic change as an unexpected battle began for healthcare workers all around the world. The COVID-19 virus, which began to spread in different countries, quickly caused hospital beds everywhere to fill up with sick patients. Healthcare workers were on the front lines in the battle against the pandemic. Medical workers, without rest, struggled with infection testing and patient care. To show compassion to the healthcare workers who were working nonstop day and night, members from ASEZ WAO, the young adult workers volunteer group from the World Mission Society Church of God, delivered heartfelt messages of thanks.

The Heart-to-Heart Relay

Through the Heart-to-Heart campaign, the ASEZ WAO young adult workers shared the gift of gratitude with medical staff by preparing cheer-up kits and cards of encouragement, demonstrating their support and appreciation. From November to December 2020, the Heart-to-Heart campaign was carried out in 13 different countries. The ASEZ WAO young adult workers expressed thanks from the bottom of their hearts to COVID-19 response facilities like hospitals, fire stations, and police stations.

Members from San Diego, California delivered 200 cheer up kits to Sharp Memorial Hospital on November 29, 2020. Meanwhile, volunteers in Manchester, United Kingdom delivered 40 kits to an ambulance station on November 30. The young adult workers in Cape Town, South Africa delivered 250 kits and an encouraging video to Tygerberg Hospital on December 3.

After receiving the heart-felt kits, many medical workers stated that they were encouraged to overcome the crisis together.

“The number of confirmed patients decreased and then increased again. We needed some strength. You’ve given us a timely support,” said Dr. Roshni Mistry at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa.

“I am very grateful to the nursing department staff performing dangerous tasks at the front line under the pandemic. I am happy that you have expressed your gratitude to them,” said the Chairman of Inamdar Multispeciality Hospital in Pune, India.

It is said that the best gift a person can receive is any gift given from the heart. The Heart-to-Heart campaign allowed frontline medical staff to receive such precious gifts. The ASEZ WAO volunteers delivered thanks and appreciation to the essential workers worldwide and encouraged many to overcome this pandemic together.

Having the goal of Saving the Earth from A to Z, the ASEZ WAO members exemplified their motto “Let’s Take Action with Mother’s Love,” and were able to deliver earnest praise and support to the essential workers undergoing such difficult times.
