Sunland, CA — May 25, 2025 — The Sunland Recreation Center was abuzz with energy and purpose as approximately 75 volunteers from ASEZ WAO, the young adult worker volunteer group of the World Mission Society Church of God, gathered for a community clean-up event. The event, falls in line with the volunteer groups’ Green Earth campaign, which aims to carry out cleanups in derelict areas around the world. With hearts full of love and hands ready to serve, participants from local churches in Sunland and Pasadena united to restore the beauty of Sunland Park.
Following Christ’s Example
The event, titled the Sunland Recreation Center Clean Up, began at 10:00 AM and aimed to show love and service to the local community, following the teachings of Christ. ASEZ WAO’s mission is rooted in emulating the love of Elohim God—God the Father and God the Mother—who inspire acts of kindness and global unity. This event is just one example of ASEZ WAO’s worldwide volunteer efforts, which span from environmental cleanups to emergency relief and humanitarian aid.
“Through this event, we hoped to embody the love of God through our actions,” said one ASEZ WAO volunteer. “As believers, we aim to reflect God’s righteousness by caring for our neighbors and the environment.”
A Lasting Impact of ASEZ WAO
The impact was immediate and visible. Long-time park-goers were stunned by the transformation. “For the past 10 years that I’ve been coming to the park, I’ve never seen such a dedicated group like you,” said one regular park exerciser. “Thank you so much for your care and support for our community. People in the world should be more like you.”
Despite the challenge of limited manpower, the volunteers made significant strides in revitalizing Sunland Park, clearing litter, trimming overgrown areas, and beautifying public spaces. Their efforts resulted in more than 50 bags of trash being collected. This act of service was not only a blessing to the Sunland community but also a testament to the unwavering spirit of ASEZ WAO members, whose commitment reflects their deep faith in Elohim God.
ASEZ WAO Continuing the Mission
In partnership with local city officials, ASEZ WAO plans to continue supporting community development and environmental stewardship in the Sunland area and beyond.
