As the autumn season came to an end, on November 30th, 2025, ASEZ university students partnered with the local Botanical Garden at the University of California, Berkeley. In response to recent heavy rainfall, 30 volunteers worked together to clear fallen branches and debris scattered throughout the garden.

Even as the student volunteers prepared for the end of the school semester, they remained attentive to the needs of the community and sprang into action. This effort was warmly received from the local residents and neighboring communities. ASEZ believes in the power of a single individual to make a difference. Thanks to the dedication of 30 volunteers from the World Mission Society Church of God in Hayward, CA, the organization took another meaningful step toward its mission of building a happier and sustainable world.

ASEZ helps protect Biodiversity

The 34 acres Botanical Garden is a refuge to many rare and endangered plants. The preservation of this garden protects the biodiversity of the plants and animal species. With the hundreds of visitors who frequent the botanical garden each year, the garden’s staff make great efforts to maintain the integrity of each plant species.

The mission of the Botanical Garden aligns with ASEZ Earth Recovery Project. Aiming to create an environment where humans and plants can coexist. The ASEZ volunteers traveled from California State University Monterey Bay, San Jose State University, University of Southern California and Delta College demonstrating the strong sense of mission that each member shares.

ASEZ encourages community participation

KTVU FOX 2 San Francisco went live with one of the ASEZ volunteers, shining a spotlight on the Botanical Garden for residents who might not have known about it. The interview also encouraged the community to get involved in sustainable efforts around Berkeley. The host praised the volunteers’ dedication, saying, “Getting students motivated to clean up on a Sunday? You’re definitely doing something right!”

The UC Botanical Garden cleanup event was able to restore the garden to its pristine state prior to the heavy rain fall and became a great source of encouragement for the local residents and other students. The San Francisco Bay area ASEZ volunteers are always striving to achieve a sustainable World.
