San Diego, CA – The Church of God in San Diego experienced an extraordinary month of May, characterized by an outpouring of love, faith, and community recognition. Three major events highlighted the church’s service & commitment to following the example of our Heavenly Father and Mother.
ISBA Seminar: Nurturing Young Minds and Hearts
The month started with the International Student Bible Academy (ISBA) Seminar, which brought together middle and high school students for a day of learning, reflection, and spiritual growth. The seminar focused on the theme “Why I Like the Church of God,” emphasizing the importance of family, environmental stewardship, and the church’s positive influence on the community.
Participants were inspired by various activities, including a heartfelt choir performance. “The work that younger people are doing is unlike any other church,” said one attendee, highlighting the unique contributions of the youth. Another guest remarked, “It’s refreshing to see young people involved.” The seminar concluded on a high note with one soul receiving a new life through baptism and committing to becoming a better child of God.
San Diego County Proclamation: A Day of Recognition
The pinnacle of the month’s events was the San Diego County Proclamation Ceremony on May 18, 2024. Supervisor Joel Anderson, representing the 2nd District, honored the World Mission Society Church of God by proclaiming May 18th as “World Mission Society Church of God Day” throughout the district. In his address, Supervisor Anderson praised the church’s extraordinary contributions, stating, “I get great pride and joy in recognizing people in my district that do extraordinary things to improve the lives of the people around them.”
This special day was marked by a formal ceremony, attended by all church members with Supervisor Anderson as the guest of honor. The recognition highlighted the church’s voluntary service, environmental clean-up initiatives, and overall positive impact on society.
Bible Seminar for the Pentecost: Family, the Source of Happiness
At the end of May, the church hosted the Pentecost Seminar, celebrating the love of family and the reality of the Heavenly family. This event, which welcomed 18 guests, focused on the concept of the heavenly family and the spiritual significance of the Passover. Participants deepened their understanding of the church’s teachings of the heavenly family through the bible.
A Month of Reflection and Joy
Throughout May, the Church of God in San Diego celebrated its achievements and reinforced its role as a community pillar. As the month drew to a close, the Church of God in San Diego looked back on a period filled with blessings from Heavenly Father and Mother and looked forward to continuing its mission of love and service.
