ORANGE COUNTY (December 19, 2021) – Although Redwood trees are known for their astonishing height and width, contrary to their appearance, their roots are actually shallow. They grow in close proximity to one another, in order to share nutrients and also physically support each other.  This was just one of the facts church members came to know while enjoying the beauty of the Redwood Grove at Carbon Canyon Regional Park.

With the rising anxiety most people have been feeling over the course of the pandemic, members of the Church of God in Orange County decided to participate in a nature walk by visiting the regional park, which is home to three acres of majestic, coastal Redwood trees. As Redwood trees are not common in Southern California, it was a first-time encounter for some.

Over 150 members gathered with friends and family for this outdoor activity and were able to understand spiritual principles through many of the facts about the Redwood trees. Just as Redwoods can grow strong and tall by working together, we can also grow strong spiritually through unity, support and love.

Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
