Santa Maria, CA – February 9, 2025 – The Church of God held a heartfelt Gratitude Event to honor the brave firefighters. The Santa Maria Fire Relief assisted in battling the devastating LA fires. The event took place at the Santa Maria Fire Station from 12 PM to 2 PM. It brought together church members from Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles. The main purpose was to show appreciation for the firefighters’ dedication and sacrifice.

The Santa Maria Fire Department played a critical role in supporting efforts at the Eton and Palisades fires. The crews leaving home for nearly a week to aid in firefighting operations. As a gesture of gratitude, the Church of God community came together to prepare a special lunch for the firefighters. Thus embodying the church’s mission to share Mother’s love and glory through acts of kindness.

Sharing Mother’s Love during LA Fires

During the event, each firefighter received a gift bag containing snacks. The gathering also provided an opportunity to share the church’s values. Also, a means to connect with the local fire department in a meaningful way. The Church of God spreads love globally, following the compassion of God the Father and God the Mother to all their neighbors.

Special guest Battalion Chief Wells attended the event and provided remarks during an interview. His presence underscored the importance of community support for first responders. Additionally, Dutch Bros Coffee partnered with the church by sponsoring coffee for the firefighters.

The Santa Maria Fire Relief Gratitude Event served as a touching reminder of the power of appreciation and faith in bringing communities together. Through this event, the Church of God not only expressed its gratitude but also strengthened its bond with local heroes who dedicate their lives to protecting others.
