On March 16, 2025, the World Mission Society Church of God in Honolulu held the 1589th Worldwide Blood Drive. The purpose of the blood drive was to “Give Life Through the Love of the Passover”. The event took place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Blood Bank of Hawaii. The blood drive attracted 30 willing and dedicated participants. All of them were eager to donate blood for the benefit of local community hospitals in need.
The Church holds these blood drives every year. That coincides with the time of Passover, a yearly festival in the Bible. Through the Passover, Christ gave His flesh and blood to give us the forgiveness of sins and grant us salvation. The members of the Church of God were moved to donate blood with the same spirit of selflessness. Understanding the importance of helping others in times of need and reflecting on the sacrifice of Christ.
Partnerships in Blood Drive

The Church of God in Honolulu hosted a blood drive last year in commemoration for the 60th Anniversary for the Church of God through the 1506th worldwide blood drive. Members were thankful to partner with the Blood Bank of Hawaii yet again for the 1589th worldwide blood drive! Through these consistent partnerships, the hope is that many lives may be saved.
Blood as such cannot be manufactured as there is currently no viable artificial blood product available. Blood and its components, like platelets and plasma, have a limited shelf life. So, the supply must be constantly replenished through donations. The only way to obtain blood and blood products for transfusion is through the voluntary donations of healthy individuals. Blood donors are essential in ensuring a safe and adequate blood supply for patients in need.
The need for blood in Hawaii is critical, with someone in the state requiring blood every two seconds. The contributions from the volunteers during this event were significantly impactful, as their donations could help save approximately 90 lives. The Blood Bank of Hawaii expressed its deep gratitude for the donations, which will directly benefit local hospitals and patients in need. Members of the Church of God in Honolulu were equally thankful for the opportunity to give back to their community and gave thanks to Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother for allowing them to participate in such a life-saving effort.
A commitment to society

The Church of God has committed to continuing blood drives throughout the months of March and April, hosting events in various locations worldwide. These blood drives support the church’s mission of spreading the love of God Elohim, who have sacrificed for all mankind.
With the 1589th blood drive now completed, the church looks forward to continuing its global outreach through acts of love and sacrifice.
