I’ve been a member of the World Mission Society Church of God for about 5 years now. I started attending the church in 2016 and my journey over those years has been truly amazing.
Prior to attending this church, I never really went to church or attended any church that felt like home . After moving to Las Vegas from Ethiopia and praying for many years hoping to find a church where the true and living God dwells, I was able to start my life of faith in my first year of attending the university in Las Vegas, Nevada. The moment I met the members at our church, I already felt like they were my family. All the members were very loving and welcoming to the point where it felt like I’ve known them my whole life. Everyone was filled with love and delight.
My heart was always filled with joy when I saw the members earnest eagerness in constantly being united and studying the Bible together. Over the years, I’ve been able to become closer to God by keeping the laws of God and learning the importance of unity, prayer and having firm faith in God. Walking with God has been so joyful and has allowed me to become a better version of myself in many ways. In addition, God has allowed me to participate in many activities such as being a part of the International University Bible Academy(IUBA), International Workers Bible Academy(IWBA) and attending several mission trips. Although I have never had any talents in playing instruments before attending the church, God has allowed me to also learn how to play the violin and participate in the Las Vegas Zion Orchestra.
In addition to keeping the laws of God and joining different activities, I have also been able to participate in helping our communities by being involved in several volunteer services. Truly being a part of the World Mission Society Church of God has been nothing but joy that brought light into my life. Although I can never repay God for their love and sacrifice I want to make every effort to be more united with the members by loving and helping one another in accomplishing the mission entrusted to us and bringing a smile to our heavenly parents. Furthermore I want to make more efforts to proclaim the words of God to all mankind so that we can all return to our hometown where there will be eternal joy and laughter.
